Cross Layering A General Overview
نویسنده
چکیده
Cross layering, the disregard of the well established layered architecture, attract current investigations in protocol design. This report gives a short overview about recent trends. We will examine possible concepts of cross layering, their problems in general as well as their chances based on an example.

Formal Methods in Cross Layer Modeling and Optimization of Wireless Networks: State of the Art and Future Directions
The layering principle has been long identified as a way to increase the interoperability and to improve the design of telecommunication protocols, where each layer offers services to adjacent upper layers and requires functionalities from adjacent lower ones. In the past, layering has enabled fast development of interoperable systems, but at the same time limited the performance of the overall...
متن کاملAn Alternative Viewpoint on the (Cross–)Layering in Wireless Networks
The capacity of a communication network depends on the mode in which the network is operated. The operational mode is determined by the network protocols, which are in turn built within a layered architecture. In the recent years there has been an abundance of efforts to optimize the protocols in the wireless networks through a cross–layer design, which is an approach that goes beyond the appli...

In recent years, the use of zirconia as a high-strength support for all-ceramic restorations has become widely accepted. The failure of zirconia restorations is mainly due to the weakness of veneering porcelain and other factors such as veneering approach. Except conventional hand layering, other methods such as pressing and digital veneering have been recently introduced and used. Meanwhile, t...
متن کاملSystem Support for Cross-Layering in Sensor Network Stack
Wireless Sensor Networks are deployed in demanding environments, where application requirements as well as network conditions may change dynamically. Thus the protocol stack in each node of the sensor network has to be able to adapt to these changing conditions. Historically, protocol stacks have been designed with strict layering and strong interface between the layers leading to a robust desi...
متن کاملLayering in structural-functional grammars
This article presents an overview of the notion of layering in three types of structuralfunctional grammars. Layering is interpreted in a broad sense to refer to two types of linguistic differentiations: (1) on the one hand, a distinction between levels of coding, namely, syntax/grammar, semantics, pragmatics; (2) on the other hand, a differentiation between speaker-related vs. content-related ...
